2011 IFA Redfish Tour Surf City Champs

This past weekend hurricane Drew and I won the IFA Redfish Tour tournament held at Surf City, NC. This was the second year in a row we have won this tourney. With the win we were able to clinch the IFA redfish tour Atlantic Division for the third year in a row. This is a measurement of consistancy and we have had our best regular season on the IFA Redfish Tour. Now we get to go down and duke it out with the other 5 divisional winners in Chalmette, La. for national team of the year at the championship. We will be defending that title as well as we won national team of the year in 2010 at Orange Beach, AL. Now to the fishing. We spanked the reds on game day. We wacked fish on topwater, spoons, and soft plastics. For the last hour of the tournament we were doubled up with reds every cast. Out of the 5 schools of fish we worked we pulled over 60 fish! What a phenomenal day given the conditions-overcast and hard northeast winds. The weird part was the fact that of of all of those fish they were all around 5 lbs or overslot. We were shocked that our fish won with 11.85 lbs. What a surprise to win the tourney with less than 14 lbs. That tells u how tough the conditions were.
