Our first stop on the IFA Redfish Tour was in Savannah, Ga. We pre fished for two days before the event but had some boat issues during those two days so we didn't really get much fishing in during that time. We managed to locate a few slot fish on day one in a couple different areas, but they were not perfect slots. Nevertheless, we only had those fish to run to on game day. We caught our biggest fish in the first five minutes of fishing. The fish were deep in the spartina grass on the high tide. We caught our next two fish on the same shoreline but they were little pups at 18". Even so we had two fish in the livewell early. We hit another spot and quickly pulled an over slot at 24.5. Went to three more spots and could not find anything on the high water. Headed back to our first two productive banks and culled our skinny 18" kicker fish for a healthy 18.6" fish. We soon ran out of time and headed for the scales. Fishing was tough for everyone with only 18 teams out of 38 weighing fish. We finished in 9th place to start the year. Not what we were looking for but it keeps us in the race for team of the year going into the next event.
