Summer Redfishing

Its been a while since my last report. I have been in Alabama for a month helping clean up the mess left behind by the April tornados. Some of the folks lost everything they had down there. Let's keep them in our prayers.
OK back to fishing. Got a late start today. I hit the water about noon at dead low tide. Within ten minutes of fishing I boated my first two reds. I pitched soft plastics to three fish and boated two of them. The one I lost hit the bait so hard and ran toward me I didn't get a good hookset. The fish was sitting in water that barely covered his back and as a wake from a passing boat was rolling over him I pitched a plastic to him from 100 feet. Was stoked finding fish on the tide which is usually my least favorite. Moved around a lot today picking fish off everywhere I fished. On one flat I had a 100 plus lb shark that would not leave the boat. I snagged the beast and fought it for nearly 45 minutes before it ended up rolling on my braid and breaking me off. Headed in about five to eat with the girls. great day on the water, was very nice to be on salt water again.
