December Fishing 12/15 and 12/16
Conditions were not the greatest this week with a strong cold front rolling into the Carolina Coast but the fish cooperated for us. I went out to see what was still around the WB area on 12/15 after two weeks off the water due in part to a kidney stone and the weather. I started out in CB and got one trout as I headed out to the beach in search of some reds. The water was murky and the swell was too much to get close enough to see the fish so I headed to some inshore waters around WB. I got three trout on the way to some of my favorite redfish docks. Then I found a school of 100+ small reds between two docks. I caught 10 and then left them alone.
On Wednesday I picked up two guys and we headed out to find some trout under brutally cold wind conditions gusting up to 20 mph. We caught 40 or so small trout with three really nice ones to finish the day. We also got one red and a flounder to complete a winter slam at Wrighsville Beach. Not a bad day in December with some of the coldest wind I have fished since last season. Come on down and book your trip today. The fishing is still red hot!!
