Christmas Eve Trout
Well this cold spell and wind has made it a little uncomfortable while on the water but the fish have been there. I have had a few charters and some scouting missions this past week and all were very productive. Did a short afternoon trip around WB last Wednesday and got 40+ small trout with a few decent specks mixed in and one Red. THe day before I got 5 trout and 10 reds in 4 hours of hitting spots I had not tried since last season. We did a fishing show last Sunday and caught about 12-15 small trout and two reds on a bitter and windy day on the wrong tide. Water was in the 40s for the first time this season. Not bad for an afternoon trip in those conditions.
The next trip I took was about 20 miles south and it was very productive. I hit some spots on a short afternoon trip this past Monday and found a ton of 2-3.5 lb tour stacked up. Water was in the 30s all afternoon and the fish were still aggressive. Even saw one trout come up top and bust a glass min! now. Left them biting and released them all.
Today-Christmas Eve I had a charter and my guys got 16 very nice speckled trout on a half day trip. Missed several others and a few pulled hooks.
Happy New Year to all and tight lines,
Capt Ren
